DMV TOP 10 OF 2015

So...2015 has been pretty real so far. A lot of shit has went on. We're seeing DMV artists reaching MAJOR success. ie: LOGIC, SHY GLIZZY, FAT TREL, GOLDLINK and of course, WALE. But on the low though, the scene is bubbling. There are some more artists on their way.
We sat around smoked a little bit and thought, "who are the top DMV artists this year?". Then we realized the year wasn't over and a lot of shit can pop off in 4 months. ie: Fetty Wap. With all that considered there is enough year behind us, so we said we'd add, "so far" and we'll update at the end of the year.
This list is based off of growing presence, growth in music and just what we think is good shit that you will be hearing more of. Basically, who we think is gonna blow up next outta here, in this particular order, that is based off of some formula, that nobody will ever know.
These artists may not be on your radar yet, but that's what we're here for.
Lets start the list.
10. Swolf (@SWOLF32)
Representing The FrivLife movement Swolf does what his name is, Flows, backwards, forwards, the kid can rap. The movement behind him is growing as well and Friv shows consistently draw crowds. He's been opening up for major acts in the area for a while and if the proper moves are made, we see him and The Friv being able to grow nationally.

9. Layla Khepri (@LAYLAKHEPRI)
We've told you guys about her before. We love this little "love bug". But all that aside, she can rap and we are watching her blossom into a beautiful beast. She just got back from tour, (congrats!) and you can see people gravitate to her. If the right moves keep being made, WHO KNOWS! what we could see!!! Get her Lottery Pick Mixtape!! By

7/8. M Burb The Captain & Bucky Dolla (@MburbtheCaptain) & (@BuckyDolla)
This is cheating on our part, cause its two rappers instead of one but they're fam to each other and fu** you. So we gave them the 7th and 8th Spot. Ya'll can fight over that. But if you don't f**k with these two already, we know, You're welcome. We hear hits coming and every time they drop a record you listen, twice. With more and more buzz in the area and records popping up on the radio these two guys are close.

We just posted one of his tracks featuring a couple of list makers the other day. If you didn't catch that we don't mind introducing you. This is Laelo. Show some respect. HD Society shirts are everywhere in the DMV, that shows you how many people know who Laelo is. Consistency is what he shows and this guy has stayed on course. Records on the radio and a successful album have made 2015 a big year for Laelo.His movement is one of the strongest in the DMV and we see the potential for it to carry him to the next level.

Garvey The Street God. So DC. We hope you know him. If you don't again, You're welcome. One of the grittiest artists on this list, Garvey comes in at number 5. Garvey is being featured everywhere. Why? We just told you, "he's so DC". There is no other way to describe it. The Chosen One is making street banger after street banger. We feel like once he finds the right record the streets are gonna guide him.

She's contagious. Smiling from ear to ear. Her happiness shines through on the records she raps on.(Really, you can hear her on the radio) Her songs are fun, she can rap. She's the champion of rolling blunts, apparently. We mean literally, she won a contest and was named the best blunt roller. Points for you Pinky. You can't help but to watch her when she performs and wanna dye your hair pink. When you're destined, you're destined....we think she is, the Hippie Life Krew thinks so too, but what do we know anyways?

You ever hear of the energizer bunny? This is his cousin Jay. This dude doesn't stop. If you've been on twitter in the past 3-4 years, you probably have heard of him at some time. It seems like he has found his sound. Jay, you're the shit, bro. We've seen him grow into a well rounded artist and garnered a very loyal fanbase. Major outlets are noticing him more and more and with your support, DMV, he can go over the edge sooner than later!

In our number one spot is none other than the "HEAD HIPPIE" himself, Visto. This guy has been around for about a year or so and he is blowing the fuck up. He sold out the Fillmore, he is on the radio, people are tattooing his logo onto their skin. We haven't seen that shit since the Slutty Boys. Point is, people love Visto. They love his songs, they love the way he dresses. We love him too. We think he's next. We think that his originality is out of this world and he is undeniable. Judge for yourself.
